What I decided to give up for lent...

So lent is underway and I truly struggled to figure out what to give up for lent because right now my doctors will kick my ass if I give up any form of food because they all need me to gain weight after this surgery. So then I thought "I could give up booze", but let's be serious- I'm a mom of two toddlers, how on earth can that happen? Ironically, my lovely husband told my sweet mother-in-law that I was giving up cursing for let, to which I replied "what the fuck- that is not happening". haha! Sorry my love!

So after a little Pinterest searching, and soul searching if you will, I was excited to see this that someone posted:

Of course I wanted to share this with everyone as soon as possible because it was like an epiphany for me. Why deal with the negativity in life when you can live a happy life? That's not to say there won't be bad days, but life is truthfully too short to be anything but happy. And since I am also OBSESSED  with Pharrell's song "Happy". I don't think I will ever be able to get sick of that song because it is catchy of course, but it just makes me smile and dance of course! And better yet, the girls have become more in love with that song, than "Let it Go", which I have been signing in my sleep for months, so this is a nice refreshing break :)

So what did you give up for lent? I am hoping that by giving negativity up for 40 days, turns into giving it up for my lifetime! I have always tried to be a positive person but there has been a lot of unfortunate circumstances that have happened in the past 18 months and now I am ready to move on and make happiness a priority!  :)

Happy Tuesday all! XOXO

A little bit about me...

Hi there and thank you for visiting my little space of the internet, where I share some of my family stories, or hope to provide some inspiration for many, but most importantly to keep my sanity by writing amongst being a mother of two toddler girls, a former labor and delivery RN and wife. I hope you find yourself comfortable as you kick up your feet, maybe grab a cup of coffee, and read what little things may be happening over this way-WELCOME!
